    Campbellsville University will host Sherre Miller Bishop, a Christian dramatist, speaker and writer, at chapel service on Wednesday, Feb. 29.

    Chapel is hosted in Ransdell Chapel on campus at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and is free and open to the public.

  • 'We Card' tobacco training is March 2

    The Campbellsville/Taylor County Anti-Drug Coalition and the Central Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy Local Board will offer "We Card" tobacco vendor education training on Friday, March 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 104 Roberts Road. Lunch will be provided.

    "We Card" is the most comprehensive and recognizable national tobacco training and education program at this time. It teaches the merchant/sales associate how to prevent illegal tobacco sales and how to handle an underage customer.

  • Talent contest to raise money for Green County prom

    Green County High School will host a musical talent contest to raise money for its prom.

    The contest will be Saturday, March 3, at 5 p.m. EST at the GCHS gymnasium.

    There will be three age categories, including 10 and younger, 11 to 15 and 16 and older.

    The first-place winners in each category will win $50 cash, a trophy, and will get to record their winning song at Krystal Music in Campbellsville.

    There will be a $20 entry fee for all contestants, with proceeds going to the prom. Deadline to enter is Monday, Feb. 27.

  • CU to host Hymn Keyboard Festival

    The Campbellsville University School of Music will host a Hymn Keyboard Festival on Saturday, March 24, for local and regional piano students.

    The festival is designed for children and youth in grades one through 12 and will begin at 10 a.m. in the Gosser Fine Arts Center.

  • Reed interview to air on 'Dialogue on Public Issues'

     

    Billy Reed, columnist and TV personality, was recently interviewed on Campbellsville University's WLCU-TV for the "Dialogue on Public Issues" show.

    CU's John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president of CU, did the interview.

    The interview will air Monday, Feb. 20, Tuesday, Feb. 21, and Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 23, and Friday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m.

    The show is aired on Comcast Cable Channel 10.

  • CU accepting donations for student whose sisters died in house fire

    Campbellsville University is accepting donations for Aletheia Chesnut, a freshman from Cynthiana, and her family, whose sisters, Jacqueline, 5, and Rachel, 4, died after a fire on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at their home in Cynthiana.

    Her father, Terry, remains in critical condition at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

    Anyone wanting to contribute to the family can make donations at CU's Office of Development at 789-5211.
