It was May 24, 2007. His team just two months earlier had ended a successful season with a run to the NAIA National Tournament Sweet 16 and a 27-7 record. Zach Allender had been dominant for Campbellsville University in its two games in Kansas City. In fact, he'd been so dominant that he was named to the all-tournament team and tabbed a second-team All-American after averaging 33 points and 16 rebounds in the tournament and 20 points and 9 rebounds for the season.
