Woman accused of stealing jewelry

A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking more than $10,000 after she allegedly stole jewelry from someone's home.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office news release, Campbellsville Police were called to a Campbellsville business on Saturday to investigate a report of stolen items.

The report states that sheriff's deputies were notified of the reported theft because the items in question were allegedly taken from a residence in Taylor County.

During the investigation, the report states, Tracy Montgomery, 29, admitted to taking the jewelry from someone else's home.

Theft by unlawful taking more than $10,000 is a Class C felony punishable by as much as 10 years in prison.

Montgomery was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center. Her bond is listed as 10 percent of $10,000.

Campbellsville Police Officer Bart Gilpin and Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Rodney Cox investigated.
