I once heard of a young stamp collector who wrote to Buckingham Palace asking for a special stamp to add to his collection. His request for the stamp was denied, but he was granted a visit with King George V, who was interested in stamps also. Afterward, as the young boy recounted his experience, the stamp itself seemed insignificant.

Real prayer is similar to that boy's experience. Think about it: having a visit with the King of Kings is far better than having a specific request granted.
