Washington County dug out of an early deficit to crush the home-standing Campbellsville Lady Eagles 49-25 on Monday night in Paul J. Coop Gymnasium.
A right-wing three-pointer by Caroline McMahan, a basket and two free throws by Nena Barnett and a power move by Brenna Wethington put Campbellsville up 9-4 with just over four minutes gone in the opening quarter.
However, it was all Commanderettes the remainder of the half as coach Bernard Smalley’s club won its third game in 17 outings.
Senior Jennifer Keene had 16 of her game-high 24 points at the intermission.
Coach Richard Dooley’s lone points in the 22-2 run by Washington County and nearly 12-minute drought by the Lady Eagles were single free throws by Barnett at 5:16 and 1:29 in the second frame.
Campbellsville could manage only six field goals, four deuces and two treys, and could hit only 18.1 percent from the field.
Barnett scored nine and McMahan eight for the Lady Eagles.
Campbellsville hosts Adair County on Friday and visit Metcalfe County on Saturday and Marion County in girl/boy doubleheaders.
