Two injured in Stoner Creek crash

Two Campbellsville residents were injured Monday in a one-vehicle collision on Stoner Creek Road.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report written by Sheriff's Deputy Ricky Underwood, Christopher K. Hayes, 18, of 3043 Stoner Creek Road was traveling east on Stoner Creek Road at about 12:20 a.m.

The report states that Hayes met another vehicle and dropped his 1999 Chevrolet Trailblazer off the right shoulder of the road and struck a telephone pole. The pole was broken in the impact.

Hayes' passenger, Laura Judd, 21, of Campbellsville, was trapped inside the vehicle.

Hayes, who was complaining of neck and back injuries, was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue. He was treated and released.

Judd, who was complaining of leg and hip pain, was extricated from the vehicle and flown to the University of Kentucky by helicopter. As of Tuesday morning, she was listed in fair condition.

Hayes and Judd were both wearing seat belts, the report states.

Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department assisted at the scene.
