TRH presents Service Awards to auxiliary volunteers

Taylor Regional Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers had its annual awards luncheon on Dec. 4.

With 49 workers, the auxiliary has given 8,139 volunteer hours this year to help TRH by working at the information desk, surgery department, emergency department, radiology department, cancer center, gift shop and as greeters. The auxiliary also collected canned food items to be donated to the local food pantry as part of its service to the community.

Pat Webster presented the Volunteer of the Year Award to Muriel Green who worked 1,502 hours this year. Dennis Webb and Christine Greer were recognized as having reached the 1,000 hour mark and will be recognized by having their names added to the 1,000 Hour Club plaque.

Webster was also recognized for her 12 years of service as the recording service secretary.

TRH CEO Jane Wheatley recognized all members for their service and commitment to the hospital and installed 2013 Officers. Officers are president, Judy Benningfield; first vice president, Brenda Kirk; second vice president, Margie Leach; secretary/treasurer, Sharon Fryman; corresponding secretary, Connie S. Tucker; historian, Leona Read, and recording service secretary, Dot Jones.

Volunteers recognized for more than 200 hours of service this year include Muriel Green, 1,502; Kay Henderson, 738; Dennis Webb, 566; Judy Benningfield, 535; Jean Greene, 414; Leona Read, 376; Dot Jones, 316; Christine Greer, 291; Juanita Basham, 242; Dolly Harris, 237; Pat Webster, 234; Ruby Wright, 233; Margie Leach, 214 and Sharon Fryman, 206.

Nine other members served more than 100 hours this year.
