Taylor Regional Hospital will present a Basic Life Support for Heartsavers Class on Thursday, July 17 from 8 a.m. to noon at the TRH Learning & Resource Center located at 125B Kingswood Drive in Campbellsville.

The class will be presented by Richard Phillips, TRH staff development coordinator.

The BLS for Heartsaver Course is for the lay rescuer who needs a credential documenting successful completion of a BLS course. The BLS for Heartsaver Course will teach rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking.

The course will provide the participant with information regarding recognizing the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and signs of breathing difficulty in children. By recognizing these signs and phoning 911 or other emergency response numbers, rescuers may save a life.

Cost is $30. Those wishing to attend should pre-register by calling the TRH Learning & Resource Center at 789-5862.
