Tigers square record at 10-10 with 72-59 home triumph

Campbellsville squads visit Cumberlands on Thursday, Georgetown on Saturday

A 20-4 run to end the game ignited Campbellsville University’s Tigers past visiting Cumberland (Tenn.) University 72-59 on Saturday.
CU led for much of the game, but fell behind 55-52 with seven minutes left in the game.
Darius Clement’s two free throws after a toss by Eric Gaines knotted the score at 55-55.
Miles Rice’s trey at 3:46 preceded two free throws by the Bulldogs before Campbellsville tallied 12 of the game’s final 14 points.
Elliott Young’s 14 points, nine coming in the first half, and 12 by Eric Gaines and 11 by Jordan Myers paced the Tigers, who shot 58.5 percent the field (24-41).
DeMarcus Page was CU’s top rebounder with seven while DeShawn Dockery, who returned to action in Thursday’s win vs. Lindsey Wilson College, had five assists in nearly 20 minutes of action.
The victory evened coach Keith Adkins’ squad’s record to 10-10 and the Tigers are now 5-6 in Mid-South Conference play.
CU goes back on the road with encounters at Cumberlands on Thursday and No. 13 Georgetown on Saturday.
