Three Campbellsville residents have been arrested and charged with theft and trespassing after they were found sitting inside a vehicle outside of an abandoned home.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, K9 Deputy Tim Coppage was dispatched last Wednesday at 9:09 p.m. to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at an unoccupied home on Capps Road.

The report states that Coppage found a white Dodge pickup truck and Charlie Dean Grider, 18, of 829 Smith Ridge Road, was inside and several steel items were in the back. She told Coppage that two men were with her but they had run into the woods.

Coppage announced that he would release his dog to apprehend the two men. The men, Billy Ray Walters, 28, and Brian Mitchell Walters, 23, both of 853 Smith Ridge Road, came out of the woods and the three were arrested. They were charged with theft by unlawful taking more than $500 and second-degree criminal trespass. They were lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center.
