Bluegrass Cellular has announced the recipients of its scholarship program and a Taylor County High School student has received an award.

The program is the company's annual initiative to support local, college-bound high school seniors. As in years past, Bluegrass's scholarship committee has selected 18 students, each of whom will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship. Kelsey Brockman, a student at TCHS, was one of the 18.

"Year after year, the scholarship program demonstrates just how many bright, driven students we have in our region," said Barry Nothstine, vice president of sales and marketing for Bluegrass Cellular. "It's a very encouraging thing to see. This year's recipients are exemplary students, and we're honored to support their academic endeavors."

The program, now in its 13th year, is offered on an annual basis to graduating seniors who attend high school in the company's 40-county home service area. Scholarship recipients are selected by a panel of judges based on criteria including financial need, academic achievement and school and community involvement.
