Taylor County High School PTSO is accepting nominations for site-based decision making parent council members for the 2008-2009 school year.
TCHS parents may pick up a nomination form in the front office at Taylor County High School from April 28 through May 9.
The qualifications for a SBDM parent council member are being a parent, step-parent or foster parent of a student enrolled in the school during the parent's term of council service.
A parent may also be a person who has legal custody of a student pursuant to a court order and with whom the student resides. A parent council member cannot be an employee or the relative of an employee of the school in which that parent serves, nor shall the parent representative be an employee or a relative of an employee in the District administrative offices.
A parent representative cannot be a local Board member or Board member's spouse. "Relative" means father, mother, sister, husband, wife, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, son-in-law or daughter-in-law.
A parent council member serves a one-year term.
The TCHS SBDM parent council election will take place on May 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the TCHS cafeteria.
