Taylor County came back from a tough 6-5 loss at Marion County a day earlier to shut out visiting Campbellsville 12-0 on Wednesday.
Justin Hazel struck out eight and allowed only second-inning hits to Chris Sexton and Tony Barrera.
Will Hollingsworth and John Robert Wood had three-hit games for TCHS while Don Dabney and Blake Caulk both had two hits. Jason Reynolds and Tyler Frogge had a double and single, respectively to complete the Cardinals’ 12-hit attack.
Taylor County had led Marion County 5-2 on Tuesday, but errors in the bottom of the sixth led to a 6-5 Knight triumph.
Campbellsville also dropped its district opener on Tuesday to Adair County as the Eagles committed seven errors in a 16-12 home setback.
CHS hosts Marion County tomorrow while TCHS entertains Adair County.
