Taylor County Schools will start the new fiscal year with a little more money in the bank. Finance Director Marcie Close reported to Board members at their meeting last week that the tentative total budget for fiscal year 2014-2015 is $27.6 million, a 1.5-percent increase from the current year.
The general fund budget will increase by about 2 percent to $22.6 million.
Included in the general fund budget is a 1-percent pay increase for all employees.
