Taylor County High School’s boys’ team posted its first district win of the season as the Cardinals conquered Marion County 67-56 on the road Friday night.
However, the Lady Cardinals fell 75-35 to Marion County, the state’s top-rated girls’ squad, in the first game.
The Cardinal boys (10-9) fell behind 7-0 and could manage only 18 first-half points.
But coach Troy Young’s troops put up 49 points (24 in the third quarter and 25 in the fourth) to win by double digits.
