Taylor Regional Hospital has been providing scholarships to local students for several years, but in 2005 the scholarship was named in honor of two prominent local physicians, the late Dr. Henry Chambers and Dr. Forest Shely, to commemorate their dedication and service.

The Chambers/Shely Scholarship is offered at Green County, Campbellsville and Taylor County high schools and is awarded to high school seniors who are planning a career in several health care fields. Winning applicants receive a maximum of $2,000 per year, up to $8,000 lifetime maximum. After graduation, the scholarship dollars are paid back by time worked at TRH.
