Taylor County: What better place to live?

-A A +A
By The Staff

We all knew it. But now others are learning as well. Taylor County is a wonderful place in which to live and raise a family.

A story on today's front page tells about a family - a large, extended family - who moved to Taylor County from Las Vegas, Nev. last year. They did so because they visited the area and liked it. A family, passing through, gets the feeling that this is the place for them to live. Sounds like a made-for-TV movie script.

They thought it would be a better place in which to raise their growing family than in the frantic, big-city atmosphere of Las Vegas.

So do we. But then we've known it all along.

It would be ridiculous to try and list all of the community's attributes. In fact, we'd never get finished. And while the community has experienced its share of struggles and heartaches, it has also recovered from the worst and continually seeks to better itself.

In addition, our children can play outside without fear, unlike situations in more metropolitan areas.

What better advertisement for a community could there be?

Of course, Taylor County isn't perfect. What community is? But there are caring, industrious people who are willing to serve in public office, contribute their time and money to civic organizations and an institution of higher learning that is second to none.

People come and go from our fine community, but many of them return, if only for a visit, because we are a welcoming community with happy, smiling faces to greet everyone.

It may sound trite, but Taylor County is indeed the BEST place to call home.
