Air Evac Lifeteam selected Lanny Thompson of the Campbellsville base as the 2008 Regional Mechanic of the Year on June 28 during the company's regional awards banquet in Nashville, Tenn.

The awards banquet honored employees from the company's Nashville region, which includes bases in Kentucky and eastern Tennessee.

"He takes the initiative to come in at any hour on any day to ensure all inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance items are done in a timely and efficient manner. He sincerely cares about the work he does and the people who fly in his helicopter.

"Not only does he continually demonstrate his mechanical proficiency and expertise, but he does so in a cheerful manner at all times. His base truly enjoys having him around and trusts his ability to maintain their aircraft," Bentkowski said.
