Taylor County Fiscal Court action

-A A +A

More action from Taylor County Fiscal Court's special meeting March 25:

• Magistrates received a copy of the proposed 2013-2014 Taylor County Detention Center budget. There was no discussion, though Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers said it had to be presented to magistrates by April 1.

Rogers said that budget will be discussed at an upcoming budget committee meeting. Last Tuesday, a budget committee meeting was announced for today at 6 p.m. at the Taylor County Courthouse. The meeting is open to the public.

• Rogers announced that this year's PRIDE cleanup will be Friday, April 26, at the former Fruit of the Loom building. More information about the cleanup will be announced on an upcoming Calendar Page.

• Magistrates agreed to purchase a total patcher road repair system. The cost wasn't mentioned, though magistrates agreed that Rogers and Williams should decide if the county pays for the machine with the county's general fund or borrows the money to pay the cost. Williams said the county has the money to pay for the machine in its general and road funds. Magistrate Tommy Corbin voted to not purchase the machine, saying he would like to see the purchase included in the county's 2013-2014 budget.

• Several budget actions were taken. In the general fund, $31,400 was transferred from and to several line items. In the road fund, $17,325.23 was transferred and $700 was transferred in the jail fund.
