Taylor County FFA participated at the Kentucky State Fair in many events. Its exhibits can be seen in the west hall of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. Students entered flower arrangements, tobacco, yellow and white corn and hay entries as well as competed in individual and team contests.
In hay entries, Tyler Thompson received 11th place in the grass legume category and Brady Turpin received 15th place in alfalfa grass. All other hay entry awards were evenly divided with 10 blue, nine red and eight white ribbons. All six corn entries received white ribbons. In flower arrangements, Kelsey Brockman, Mariah Malone and April Biggs all received blue ribbons. The other arrangements received six red and two white ribbons.
Livestock, dairy and welding teams competed at the state fair in state competitions. The livestock team placed fourth in the state with Hannah Hall placing third high individual. Members consisted of Hunter Willis, Hannah Hall, Mason Arnold and Nikki Wethington. The welding team placed sixth in the state. Those members consisted of Robby Wilkerson, Jesse Hurdt and Chris Whitley. The dairy team placed 17th in the state. The dairy team members included Elliott Davis, Weston Sullivan, Winnie Cheuvront and Tyler Thompson.
The Lake Cumberland educational display in the fruit and vegetable category was put together by several FFA members. It was one of three exhibits receiving blue ribbons. Regional STAR farmer exhibits by Mariah Corbin and Erin Underwood both received blue rosettes.
