The local St. Baldrick's organization has raised nearly $30,000 for children's cancer research.
This year, according to organizer Donna Wise, $12,500 was raised online, $12,000 was collected at the St. Baldrick's Shaving for a Cure event on March 22 and $4,000 was raised at the Color To Conquer race on March 15.
Wise said this year's fundraising brings the community's six-year St. Baldrick's total to $269,670.
There will be a private auction this summer, Wise said, to raise more money for children's cancer research.
