Speed is a factor in a third of fatal crashes involving drivers ages 16 to 19, according to a report released last month from the Governor's Highway Safety Association.
Campbellsville Police Chief Tim Hazlette said a collision can be speed-related, even when a driver is obeying the posted speed limit, if they were driving too fast for current conditions.
"The yellow signs are advisory signs, and that sometimes confuses people," Hazlette said.
