Smith-Altman wins bid to insure library

The new Taylor County Public Library will be insured by Smith-Altman Insurance company.

Board members met last Wednesday to discuss quotes from two local insurance companies, Smith-Altman and Jessie Insurance, to decide which will broker a policy for the library's new building on East Broadway.

Board Chair John Miller said Smith-Altman first quoted an annual premium of $5,508 but later lowered the price to $4,453. The price is good for one year.

The Jessie Insurance rate is $4,437 for the next three years.
