Lady Cards gain 9th, 10th wins at Bardstown, over Bullitt Central

Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals trailed only 28-22 at the half, although they had missed half of their 18 free throws before intermission.
However, TCHS could mange only one second-half field goal and were 7-14 at the stripe in losing a home 20th District encounter 58-31 to Marion County on Friday night before homecoming activities.
The Lady Knights, who improved to 3-0 vs. district foes, used a 16-3 third frame as the Lady Cardinals (2-2) managed only a three-point play from Rachel Shoemaker.
Taylor County hit six charity tosses in the final frame and were out-scored 14-6.
Shoemaker (12) and Haley Wright (11) reached double digits for the Lady Cardinals.
Freshman Haeli Howard led Marion County (8-8) with 16 points while senior Alexus Calhoun added 14 for coach Anthony Epps team.
Taylor County (10-7) visits Thomas Nelson on Monday before hosting Adair County on Tuesday and Metcalfe County on Friday in girl/boy doubleheaders before a make-up encounter at Hart County on Saturday.

Taylor County overcame a slow-starting first half to down Bullitt Central 38-28 on Thursday night at home for the Lady Cardinals’ 10th win this season.
Haley Wright’s 18-point night sparked coach Whitney Hooper’s squad, who was in an 11-11 deadlock at the half with the team from Shepherdsville.

Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals used the double-digit scoring from Rachel Shoemaker (19 points), Haley Wright (18) and Hannah Howard (15) plus tough defense to shut down the home team’s top scorers to down Bardstown 60-40 on the road Saturday.
Taylor County pulled away with 13-8, 13-9 second and third frames before cruising 23-14 in the fourth.
