The Taylor County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of several trailers.

According to a report filed by Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Allen Newton, sheriff's deputies received information about an individual attempting to unload a possibly stolen lawnmower on Chestnut Grove Road on Monday.

The report states that when deputies arrived, the person had left the scene, pulling a bumper hitch trailer.

At the scene, deputies recovered an EverRide Warrior mower stolen from a residence on Saloma Road and a trailer stolen from the Woodlawn Avenue area.

Later, deputies recovered another trailer that had been stolen from Phillips Drive. The trailer had been dropped in the roadway on KY 744 after the perpetrator left the residence on Chestnut Grove Road.

The report states the perpetrator was attempting to reload the stolen mower onto another stolen trailer after the first stolen trailer had a flat tire.

Newton's report states the suspect's vehicle has been identified and arrests are expected. The case, however, is still being investigated.
