Sex offender charged with using Facebook

A Campbellsville man, who is a convicted sex offender, has been arrested and charged with violating the terms of his status by using Facebook.

Kevin James Walls, 43, of 213 Arbor Lane, was arrested Monday, March 17, at 10:39 a.m.

According to court records, Walls allegedly used the Facebook social network on Feb. 19, which allows people younger than 18 to access it.

Walls was charged with sex offender instant message/chat/social network use, which is a misdemeanor offense.

Bond was set at $1,000 unsecured. As conditions of his release, he was ordered to not have contact with any minors, to not use a computer and to submit proof of doctor appointments to Taylor District Court Judge Amy S. Anderson. He is scheduled to appear in Taylor District Court today.

According to the Kentucky Online Sex Offender Registry, Walls is a lifetime registrant who is compliant with the terms of his registration. He was convicted of third-degree rape and third-degree sodomy of a 13-year-old.
