Both Campbellsville and Taylor County high schools will be taking part in the annual See You at the Pole event, set for Wednesday, Sept. 24.
SYATP is a student-initiated and student-led movement that began in Texas in 1990 with a single church youth group and is now observed by millions of students across the nation.
According to the organization's Web site, www.syatp.com, SYATP connects believers together at the beginning of the school year, so they can stand strong together throughout the year.
"See You at the Pole is all about prayer," the Web site states. "It's about coming together and laying aside all the labels and groups for one day, to simply connect with God in prayer and connect with fellow Christians in unity around the flag pole - whether jocks, preps, geeks, Methodists, Baptists, Catholics, sophomores or seniors."
Locally, SYATP will begin at both local high schools at about 7:30 near each school's flagpole.
Lowell Avenue Baptist Church will be promoting the event at both high schools by serving milk, juice and doughnuts beginning at 7 a.m.
