The late Fred Phillip Harris painted this picture of the Old Courthouse and many others during his stay in the Taylor County jail in 1968. Pictured are, from left, his nephews Fred Moore of Paoli, Ind. and John Payton of Mitchell, Ind. and Betty Jane Gorin Smith, local historian. Harris' artwork was featured in a 1968 Courier-Journal story after local jailer Ben Richerson purchased art supplies for the inmate. Moore and Payton visited Campbellsville in July in search of old paintings that their late uncle created. The men would like to have digital photos of as many paintings as possible in order to share their uncle's talent with other family members. If anyone has or knows the whereabouts of any of Harris' paintings, contact Moore at (812) 723-2529 or Payton at (812) 849-5439.
