Screening at Green River Lake Dam to begin next week

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin exploratory drilling at Green River Lake Dam this next week.

The drilling will continue throughout the spring and into the summer.

The Corps of Engineers annually inspects its reservoir dams, with a more thorough inspection occurring every five years. A recent screening of Green River Lake Dam determined that additional screening was necessary to assess the current condition of the 40-year-old dam. Soil and rock samples will be taken of the area for laboratory testing.
