Rogers Scholars deadline is Jan. 31

The deadline for applying for Rogers Scholars, a youth leadership program, and ELI, a program for young entrepreneurs, is Thursday, Jan. 31.

High school students in the 42-county region of Southern and Eastern Kentucky are eligible to apply.

Rogers Scholars is for rising high school juniors. Sophomores, juniors and seniors can apply for ELI. Both are one-week summer sessions, which take place on the grounds of The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.

Rogers Scholars graduates have described the program as a "life-changing experience."
