Restaurant inspections for May 4

The following restaurants were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health using the scale below.

- 85 to 100, pass inspection

- 70 to 84, restaurant must be reinspected within 30 days

- Under 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the restaurant will be closed.

- Smoke Pit BBQ of New Columbia Road in Campbellsville received a health code score of 100, citing no violations.

- Tienda Mexicana Grocery of Nancy Cox Drive in Campbellsville received a health code score of 98, citing two violations. Bulk food was improperly labeled and carpet in retail area was in poor repair.

- Phillips Lanes Restaurant of Bambi Lane in Campbellsville received a health code score of 93, citing five violations. Food was left at back door by a vendor on concrete with storage containers pitted, cooked meat was stored improperly, a can opener wasn't clean, an ice scoop was stored improperly, a freezer lid was in poor repair, a macaroni container wasn't labeled or clean, a deep fryer wasn't stored on an easily cleanable surface, a freezer wasn't clean and lights in the kitchen area weren't shielded.

- WHI Hardwood Café of University Drive in Campbellsville received a health code score of 100, citing no violations.

- Papa John's of Central Plaza in Campbellsville received a health code score of 96, citing three violations. Handles for toppings were stored outward, wiping cloths weren't stored in a sanitizing solution and lights weren't shielded in a cooler.

- Winters Dining Hall of University Drive in Campbellsville received a health code score of 97, citing two violations. A milk dispensing tube was too long, cabinet shelving under a buffet wasn't clean and walls in the dishwashing area weren't clean.

- Dollar General #7366 of East Broadway in Campbellsville received a health code score of 83, citing five violations. Multiple cans were dented, there was no hot water in the men's restroom, there was no hand soap or paper towels in the restroom, food was stored beside cleaners and other chemicals and some ceiling tiles were damaged and missing. At a follow up inspection, the store received a health code score of 99, citing one violation, a missing ceiling tile.
