Restaurant inspections for Aug. 17

The following restaurants were inspected by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department using the scale below.

- 85 to 100, pass inspection

- 70 to 84, restaurant must be reinspected within 30 days

- Under 70, a suspension of permit notice is sent to owner; if owner doesn't reply within 10 days, the permit will be revoked and the restaurant will be closed.

- Pancho's of East Broadway in Campbellsville received a health code score of 70, citing 18 violations. Roaches and fruit flies were found in the restaurant, weather stripping at a back door was worn, raid/foggers were found in a storage closet along with unlabeled bottles, a personal drink was found in a food preparation area, employees weren't seen washing their hands, a cheese sauce container was stored next to a dishwasher, sugar was stored uncovered, chicken was stored over ground beef, chicken and cheese weren't covered in a walk-in cooler, tortilla chips were stored on the floor, the ceiling over a grill was soiled, walls were heavily soiled, there was no lighting in a walk-in cooler, bulbs weren't shielded, floors were heavily soiled, there was no thermometer in a deep freezer or a walk-in refrigerator, there was an abundance of soiled wiping cloths, plastic wrap was found lining a wire rack, an enamelware pot wasn't approved for a commercial kitchen, surfaces of most food-contact areas, including a can opener and utensils, weren't clean, sponges were being re-used at a three-compartment sink, a can opener was soiled, a butter brush was not food grade, a cutting board was worn, a trash can wasn't covered in the women's restroom and there were no test strips. A 10-day follow-up inspection was required, along with proof of a pest control contract. At a follow-up inspection, the restaurant received a health code score of 97, citing three violations. The ceiling over a grill was soiled, lights weren't shielded in a walk-in cooler and sponges were being re-used at a three-compartment sink. A pest control contract was provided.

- McDonald's of East Broadway in Campbellsville received a health code score of 94, citing five violations. Wiping cloths were found in a food preparation area not stored in a sanitized solution, coffee preparation machines weren't cleaned, exterior sides and lid of an ice cream machine weren't clean, machines on a countertop under a front service area weren't clean, a sandwich wrapper tray shelving wasn't clean, a french fry box storage area wasn't clean, a fry warmer wasn't clean and floors in a downstairs area were in poor repair.

- Baskin Robbins of KY 210 in Campbellsville received a health code score of 97, citing two violations. A doorframe of an ice chest wasn't clean and freezer doors weren't clean.

- The Little Philly of South Central Avenue in Campbellsville received a health code score of 100, citing no violations.

- Hardee's of East Broadway in Campbellsville received a health code score of 100, citing no violations.

- Fastrack #8 of New Columbia Road in Campbellsville received a food health code score of 92 and a retail health code score of 98, citing eight violations. No thermometer was found in a deep freezer or in a reach-in refrigerator in the kitchen, there was no metal stem thermometer, sugar was stored on the floor in a storage room, food was stored next to a hand sink, there was a hole in a wall next to a mop sink that was open to the outside, Coca-Cola products were stored next to a bait tank and shelving wasn't smooth or easily cleanable. At a follow-up inspection, the store received a retail and food health code score of 100, citing no violations.
