A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with sodomizing and sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl.

Wesley "Wes" W. Gann, 30, of 457 Chaney Pike Road, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m.

According to court records, Gann was arrested in Ohio and waived extradition to Kentucky.

Gann's arrest warrant states that he allegedly engaged in oral sex with the girl and fondled and digitally penetrated her while a 6-year-old boy watched.

The alleged crimes occurred on two separate occasions, according to court records, last June.

Gann was charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse, both of a victim younger than 12. The charges are Class A felonies, punishable by as much as life in prison.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Taylor District Court on Friday, Feb. 15. Bond was set at $250,000 cash and Gann was ordered to not have contact with the alleged victim or any minors. Gann was appointed a public defender.

Last Wednesday, the charges were held to a Taylor County grand jury for possible indictment.

Campbellsville Police Captain Patricia Thompson investigated.
