Resident charged with sexual misconduct

A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with sexual misconduct.

Robbie S. Hughes, 51, of East Meadow Creek Road, was arrested Thursday, May 2, at 2:11 p.m.

According to Hughes' arrest warrant, he allegedy had sexual contact with 6- and 7-year-old girls on June 29, 2012. Records state that Hughes allegedly told the two girls to pull their underwear down to see their genitals.

Hughes was charged with two counts of sexual misconduct, which is a misdemeanor offense.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Taylor District Court on Friday, May 3.

Bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000 and he was appointed a public defender. Hughes was ordered to not have contact with the alleged victims.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday, May 20.
