A Campbellsville woman has been charged with selling medication.

Sandra K. Chatas, 49, of 605 E. First St., was charged at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11.

According to Chatas' criminal citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Ben Riggs received an anonymous tip that she was selling Xanax pills.

Upon arrival at Chatas' home, Riggs agreed to speak with Riggs and told him she received 90 Xanax pills from the Adanta office and then sold 71 of them for $71. She told Riggs, according to court records, that she needed money to pay a utility bill.

Chatas gave Riggs, records state, a small amount of marijuana and nine small marijuana joints. Riggs found 17 Xanax pills in a bottle.

Chatas was charged with third-degree selling Xanax and possession of marijuana, which are misdemeanor offenses.

She is scheduled to appear in Taylor District Court for arraignment on Nov. 18.
