Resident charged with bringing drugs into jail

A Campbellsville woman has been charged with bringing drugs into the Taylor County Detention Center.

Deena N. Collings, 28, of 705B S. Central Ave., was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 3:10 p.m.

According to court records, during a strip search, she was found to have a black bag and green balloon inside her body.

Records state that the bag had tobacco inside. A lighter, rolling papers, eyeliner pencil, 10 Lyrica pills, 18 1/2 Ambien pills and an unidentified pill were inside the balloon.

Collings was charged with second-degree promoting contraband and third-degree selling 20 or more dosage units of a controlled substance.

Last Wednesday, Collings' arraignment in Taylor District Court was rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 13.
