Resident accused of growing marijuana

A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with growing marijuana.

William S. Wethington, 52, of 58 Joe Kerr Road, was arrested Thursday, May 2, at 8:53 p.m.

According to Wethington's arrest citation, Kentucky State Police troopers received a call reporting that marijuana was being grown at the Joe Kerr Road home.

Court records state that, upon arrival, troopers were given permission to search Wethington's home.

Records state that troopers allegedly found 74 marijuana plants, marijuana, a scale, a marijuana smoking pipe, a thermostat and a growing light.

Records state that Wethington claimed the items and said the marijuana is for his personal use.

Wethington was charged with growing five or more marijuana plants, selling less than 8 ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana and buy/possession of drug supplies.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Taylor District Court on Friday, May 3. Bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000. Wethington was ordered to not consume any drugs or alcohol.

On Wednesday, May 8, the charges against Wethington were held to a Taylor County grand jury for possible indictment.
