Isn't it so like God to ruin a good bout of cynicism? For a few months I've been down on religion. Very bah humbug and all, struggling to get to church on time, or at all for that matter.
Most often, I'd detour into Wal-Mart and dawdle in the shampoo or office supply aisle. Then I'd get to church late and sit not in my usual place in the front but way in the back off to the side where I'd hope to be invisible.
The problem is the people at my church are all so dang friendly that it's difficult to not reciprocate. But I'd give it my best shot.
