Local police are gearing up for what is historically a time when thefts and burglaries are on the rise.
Most thefts and burglaries occur between December and February, according to Campbellsville Police Chief Dennis Benningfield. And with a few protective measures, residents can do their part to prevent these types of crimes.
"It is a different day and time," Benningfield said. "It used to be people could leave their home unsecured for days at a time. You can't do that anymore."
