Campbellsville Police arrested two Campbellsville residents on Monday after one allegedly ran from police and the other helped him get away.
According to a Campbellsville Police news release, Officer Ryan Jewell was patrolling in the south Campbellsville area on Carden Street at 3:40 p.m.
The release states that Jewell saw a vehicle being driven by a female driver and a male passenger and the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt.
When Jewell initiated a traffic stop, the driver pulled over but the passenger jumped out and fled on foot. Jewell chased the man but lost sight of him and the driver drove away from the scene.
Officers conducted a search and were able to identify the suspects, the report states, and the vehicle and driver were later found on McNary Street. Further investigation led officers to a home on Lyon Street.
As officers approached the home, the suspect who fled earlier ran from the home and was apprehended after a short foot chase.
Officers arrested Cory Gadberry, 35, of 107 McNary St., and charged him with public intoxication and second-degree fleeing and evading police.
Officers also arrested Shayla McAllister, 31, of 107 McNary St., and charged her with second-degree hindering apprehension and prosecution.
Gadberry and McAllister were lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center.
