NCAA tourney in KFC Yum! Center, Final Four in Indy

By Bobby Brockman

Everyone seems to want to look ahead. The  Central Kentucky News-Journal office or my cell phone seems to ring several times a week with people wanting to know when some sports event is going to happen and where in the future.
One thing University of Kentucky and University of Louisville fans can agree on is that the state of North Carolina hosts too many (the most by any other state) NCAA men’s basketball tournament games.
The reason is that the Tar Heel state has three or four real nice facilities and they bid for those second- and third-round tilts and regionals often.
Some good news is that the KFC Yum! Center will host second- and  third-round encounters in 2015 and that the Wildcats, but not the Cardinals, are eligible to play there next March.
Also, for Southeastern Conference fans, the men’s basketball tournament will be in Nashville more often than not while the ACC Tourney, next year’s home for the Louisville Cardinals, has decided its next six post-season sites with three in North Carolina, two in Brooklyn and one in the nation’s capital.
Most folks also want to keep up with high school and collegiate football schedules well in advance as they plan fall trips and die-hard high school hoop followers want to know where next year’s Fifth Region Tournaments are being played as soon as the previous ones are finished.
