What am I thankful for? Why? Well, I am most thankful for my parents. They have always been there for me. Ever since I was born, they have protected me. Sometimes, I know that they are helping me and other times I do not know or I wish now to say thank you to them. Whenever I was injured or sick, they always cared for me and helped me regain my strength. If it was not for my parents I would not even be here today. I am exceptionally blessed to have such wonderful parents.
The parents God has given me have taught me more than imaginable. Not only have they provided me with a formal education, they have taught me life skills and lessons. They have shown me the blessings you receive when you obey and follow God and how going astray can lead to a horrific fate. They are absolutely awesome and they are the most wonderful parents anyone could hope for.
Although I know it, I take it for granted that they love me and always have.
Wow, I can not even imagine how life would be without my mom or dad. From fighting with friends, to helping me with school work, my mom and dad have always been there for me. You could say my parents are very strict but that just shows me that they love me enough to set rules so I can stay disciplined. For example, they do not allow me to have a Myspace, date boys, or watch MTV.
They always push me to be the best person I can be. If they see that I have not done my best at something, they will always say a familiar phrase. "It is okay that you did not do your best this time, but try to do your best the next time." They also take my brother, sister, and I to church and encourage us to make decisions and actions out of Jesus Christ.
My mom, Dianna, works a great deal of time as a teacher, not just to help take care of me, but to take care of my brother and sister too. She always puts us first, like if we need something such as money for a certain thing or something as priceless as a hug, she always sees to it that everything is took care of.
My dad's name is Timmy. He is a man that works really hard on a daily basis at his job. His occupation is a logger and he works an average of ten hours per day to help support our family.
I am thankful and blessed that I have parents that work hard and care for me. They support my brother, sister, and I one hundred percent. They go to work everyday and try to make the best of their jobs just to make sure we have the best we can have. Who could be more fortunate and thankful than that?
She gave birth to me, stayed up with me day and night for months, and has watched me grow into the young woman I am today. The person that I am most thankful for is my mother. Everyday she pushes me to be the best that I can be and always try my hardest. Throughout the years she has been the best mother that she could be and has always tried to fulfill my every need. She is always complimenting me and making me feel good about my success. Even when I don't succeed at something she is still there telling me that I tried my hardest and that's all that counts.
There was a point in my life when everything in my life just felt wrong. I didn't have many friends, I didn't care much for school, and I was just very depressed. Everyday she would be there for me, telling me that everything was going to be okay. Never would I have thought that there would be a point in my life where everything felt perfect. But here I am, I have tons of friends, I'm in Beta, and I'm one of the bubbliest people you will ever meet. I can now say that my mother is my hero. She helped me get out of one of the lowest points in my life and I thank her for that. One day I hope to be as great of a mother as she has been to me. Even when she is off in heaven I will never forget how much of an impact she had on my life.
Have you ever took the time just to think on where you would be today without your family? I do not know about you, but I love my family for many different reasons, and I do not know what I would do without them. That's why I'm thankful to have them in my life!
I'm blessed to have a family like I do, because some do not have anyone to care for them. They keep a roof over my head and usually are there to get me what I want. Most of all I'm thankful that I still have my grandparents. They mean the world to me, when my mom and dad are at work and nobody else is there, my grandparents are always there for me to take me places and get things for me. I love them so much and no matter what, I have to be thankful for that. They may be getting old, and that still does not slow them down, but that is just one more reason to be thankful, and to love each and every minute I am with them!
Beep! Beep! Beep! That's the sound of my alarm clock going off every morning. Most mornings I'm like every other human being waking up at 6 a.m., grumpy as a gorilla's butt.
I and my peers should be thankful for all we have. Like, being able to wake up with warm covers and a bed to sleep on. Waking up in a secure house with a roof over your head. We should also be gracious for our dear moms and dads to catch us when we fall. I can't leave out our father up top, Jesus Christ, which is always there for us.
I thank God each and every day, for all these things I have that I take for granted, things that not everyone has. I, Marcus Christian Rodgers, am lucky enough to still have both sets of grandparents and parents. I has don't understand the importance of my great loving baby sister that I adore so greatly.
I am also thankful for my church family. Every church member at St. Mark's United Methodist Church is loving, caring, and gracious. Any time I need advice or just a lending hand, my church is there for me.
Next time I hear my alarm clock beeping early in the morning, I will take that as a symbol to pray to God and thank him for all these great things I have. I hope this is the same with you.
Now that it's almost Thanksgiving, I'm sure your thinking about what you're most thankful for. God has blessed me with a lot of things. But, after tonight, November 6, I've realized one thing that I'm absolutely thankful for. This special someone is my grandpa, Charles Mardis. He's been through many struggles throughout his lifetime and he's fought each one to his best ability. Even though he's not been able to do things with me, like take me riding around the farm like we use to do, I still love him just as much as I did back then.
When I was say five or six, the doctors said he wasn't going to live much longer, maybe six months or so. But, it's been nine years since that.
Ever since then, he's been in bed not being able to do his everyday stuff that he use to do. Since I was so young, I don't really remember him being able to drive and walk around on his feet. But, I'd have to say he's been one true fighter.
Every night before I lay down to go to sleep, I'm going to thank God for blessing me with such a great grandpa. After seeing him in such bad shape as he is, I've learned to never give up and I'm going to cherish each and everyday that I have left with him.
So you want to know what I am thankful for. Of course the first things that most people would say are God, friends, and family, but with me, it is that plus much more. Believe it or not, my teacher is someone who I am personally thankful to have. God has sent me many people and things to be thankful for.
God is who I am thankful for the most, and nobody can or will ever change that. I can talk to him whenever I need to, and he will listen to every word I say, and tell me exactly what I need to hear. I couldn't live one day without him.
My Family is there for me all the time. My mom and dad are my life savers. We fight a lot, but the fights always make us grow closer. Jessica, my sister, is someone I can go to for advice on anything and everything. Ray, my brother, always has my back 100 percent. Aubri, Ty, Alexis (Wexi), and Hunter, I love you all so much, and you make me smile, even when I don't want to.
My friends keep me going. I have to say, Taylor, is my all-time best friend. We tell each other everything. I could sit here and write a 10 page report just on the things we have helped each other get through. Emili Madison Rose, where do I start? We were good friends in 5th grade, and now, we are good friends again. You remind me to take everyday for granted.
Last, but definitely not least, is someone very special to me. Mrs. Gordon is someone I am very thankful for. I have really got to know this woman a lot this year, and now I feel as if I have known her all my life. To me, she is not just a teacher, but a role model, and a true friend. When I am having a rough day, she can tell, and she tries to fix it. Mrs. Gordon notices little things that most teachers would over look. Strong, courageous, faithful, and truthful are just a few of the characteristics Mrs. Gordon possesses. Without her, I would not be the person I am today. I am very thankful to have her in my life.
Have you ever had the nightmare that your child died? Unfortunately, my sister has lost three children in the progress of her twenty year life. Obviously, the pain is greatly felt, but somehow someway, when my sister is around me, God puts her to a soft smile. I am thankful for my sister.
A lot of times, in the lowest of moments, I feel so alone in the huge world. Along comes my sister always cheerful asking about my day. Sometimes, it seems like she puts herself before me.
She has been through everything I'm going through now such as peer pressure, and she avoided most wrong routes but made some mistakes which I learned from. God was with her, and she managed to find a better life. Looking back on all the hurtful past, she seems to be optimistic on all of her regrets and mistakes.
The main thing she has done is inspired me to be all I can be. There are so many obstacles hurdling toward her, but she stands up to the plate and faces them head on, still while shining. If she can blaze while in the middle of much trouble, then surely I can at least try my hardest to do my very best and become a better person for her, as well as myself. Her chin is simply held high permanently.
Without my sister, my life would quickly downfall. I would have nobody to make me smile and give me hope. Whenever I'm going through a tough time, I think of my sister and how something good will eventually come out of it, as always. God has blessed me with a special, unforgettable sibling who will be my best friend eternally.
What am I most thankful for? Hmmm... well, I would have to say God. He has always been there for me!! He brought me into this world, and has blessed me so much. He has granted me with great, loving parents, a roof over my head, my brother, caring grandparents, clothing, an awesome youth pastor, and, finally, a faithful church.
Plus, the biggest blessing in the world, he dyed on the cross to save me from the fiery pits of eternal damnation. This list could go on to the ends of the Earth. It's just amazing to look how much he has blessed me with. Yet, I take it for granted every single day. Well, now, that I look at it, everything on Earth is great blessing from him.
It's just unbelievable; he has almighty power, and chooses to use some of it on me. So, I thank you God for all you have given me, even though I don't deserve a single bit of it!!!
I Am Thankful
If you looked back on my life and how I used to act and what I would say, you would think I was a totally different person today. I did not have the people I have in my life now back then. Now I have a lot to be thankful for. But, three special people make a great impact on my life everyday. These people are my best friends; Rachel, Nate, and Raven. The impact they make on my life is worth more than words can say.
Rachel is an amazing girl. Everyday she sets a wonderful example for me and every other student in school. She pushes me to be a better person with everything she does and she doesn't even know it. Everytime I have a problem, or it's one of those days where I don't even want to smile, she always flips my frown upside down.
Nate is a great friend. He has been a wonderful blessing in my life. Even though I have known him for a short time, he has impacted my life greatly by being the great Christian he is. I am so thankful for him everyday. If Nate weren't my friend, I would probably never have been the person I am today.
Raven, who I refer to as my councelor, is humble with everything she does. She knows exactly what to tell me with each predicament I have. Through our friendship, she has taught me how to be an awesome Christian and to have confidence in myself with everything that comes up. Raven has taught me to chase my dreams, no matter how outrageous they seem, never give up. I am so thankful that we are such close friends.
These three amazing people have taught me lessons beyond compare. Without them, I would be lost in this world. I am so thankful for each one of them. I am blessed to have them in my life today.
Who, rather than what I'm thankful for, is a very simple. Berneda B. Wright. To some, that's just another ordinary name. To me, that name takes words such as such as "greatest" and "hero" to the very reaches of their confines. Meme is what we have come to know her as, and will continue to call her. She has never failed to attend any of my competitions or concerts.
Vehemently she applauds my performance at all of our sporting events, and remains loyal to us, even after a devastating loss. Preparing my favorite meals to her kitchens full capacity, she is always grateful for my visits. Meme, caring enough to take me fishing, even when it is not her favorite pastime, is always out to make my day. Going to church every Sunday, I'm thankful that my grandmother leads by example and has a strong foundation in the word of God.
Just a phone call away, I know she will be here in a heartbeat to escort me anywhere my heart desires. Knowing that I have a loving, appreciative grandmother like Meme makes me realize that I have a blessing some kids don't. What am I thankful for? Berneda B. Wright - my hero.
