Thursday, Nov. 14, is recognized around the globe as World Diabetes Day.
Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers recently signed a proclamation proclaiming Nov. 14 as Diabetes Awareness Day in Taylor County.
According to the proclamation, more than 25.8 million Americans, including more than 370,000 Kentuckians, have diabetes and about 200,000 Americans die from diabetes each year.
Another 79 million people are estimated to have pre-diabetes and about 7 million are unaware that they have diabetes.
