A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged with leaving her young children home alone.
According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, deputies received a report from social services staff members on July 21 that a mother had left two small children home alone on July 16 at about 5:15 p.m.
The report states that, after an investigation, deputies learned that Anna Newcomb had allegedly abandoned her children, ages 4 and 9 months, at home for more than two hours. After the investigation, a warrant was issued for Newcomb's arrest.
Newcomb, 24, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 10, and lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center. She was charged with second-degree wanton endangerment, which is a misdemeanor offense.
Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Dickie Benningfield investigated.
