A Campbellsville man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl and may spend time in prison.

Robert Elzie Followell, 39, of 3825 Raikes Hill Road appeared before Taylor Circuit Court Judge Allan Bertram on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Followell pleaded guilty to first-degree sex abuse. A first-degree persistent felony offender charge was dismissed.

According to court records, Followell was accused of grabbing and attempting to kiss a 14-year-old girl.

The prosecutor has recommended that Followell be sentenced to serve one year in prison to be served at the same time as a sentence in a Russell County case. The prosecutor has also recommended that he have no contact with the victim and return all of the victim's and her mother's personal belongings.

Court records also include an order signed by Bertram stating that Followell is to undergo sex offender evaluation, though registering as a sex offender is not listed on the prosecutor's recommendation. Sentencing is set for Dec. 18.

Court records also list his address as 3825 Raikes Hill Road in Elk Horn.
