A Campbellsville man has been accused of raping a teenage girl six times last year.
Jeffrey E. Watson, 41, of 337 Pruyear Road, was arrested on Friday and lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center.
A Taylor County grand jury charged Watson earlier this month with six counts of third-degree rape, though the indictment was sealed.
Because Watson has been arrested, Taylor Circuit Court Judge Allan Bertram unsealed the indictment on Monday.
A grand jury can seal an indictment if there is a possibility that the accused will try to evade police.
According to Watson's arrest citation, he allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl at his home on six occasions between April and August 2013.
Bond was set at $10,000 cash, which Watson has posted. He was ordered to not have contact with his alleged victim. If convicted, Watson could be sentenced to as much as 30 years in prison.
Campbellsville Police Officer Ben Riggs investigated.
Watson is scheduled to appear in Taylor Circuit Court for arraignment on Tuesday.
