A Columbia man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly took a woman and her child hostage.
According to a Campbellsville Police report, on Tuesday at about 7:30 a.m., a woman and a child entered Minit Mart on Old Lebanon Road. The woman told the clerk that she was being held hostage at gunpoint at her home. Her alleged captor, Anthony D. Holliman, 30, was in the store at the time.
According to the report, the woman said she was able to convince Holliman to let her go to the store for coffee.
The clerk called police, who were able to arrest Holliman without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Holliman reportedly held the woman and her child hostage overnight. The woman said she was tied up and sexually assaulted.
Holliman was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree unlawful imprisonment and one count each of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy.
The woman was treated at Taylor Regional Hospital and released.
Campbellsville Police Detective Sgt. Pat Thompson is investigating.
