A Campbellsville man has been charged with having a concealed weapon after police stopped him for driving off the road near Green River Lake.
Ben D. Johnston, 18, of 295 Twin Meadows Road was cited at 10:06 p.m. on Friday, July 25.
Johnston's citation states that Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers saw him driving a motor vehicle off of a maintained roadway.
The citation states officers cited Johnston for that offense but gave him a verbal warning that while driving he should be in possession of an operator's license.
Court records state that, after questioning, Johnston told Fish and Wildlife officers that there might be a pistol in the console of the vehicle.
After Johnston gave officers permission to search his vehicle, they found a .22 pistol.
Johnston is scheduled to be arraigned in Taylor District Court on Monday, Aug. 18.
Fish and Wildlife officer Jeremy McQueary investigated.
