A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with assault after he allegedly struck a woman and fled with his child.
Jeffrey Adam Dicken, 21, of Campbellsville, was arrested Tuesday at 10:09 p.m.
According to court records, Campbellsville Police Officer Dexter Colvin received a complaint of a possible domestic situation.
Records state that Colvin arrived at CVS Pharmacy to meet a woman, who reported that she was involved in a physical dispute with her live-in boyfriend, Dicken.
The argument, the woman told Colvin, began when she told Dicken to stop fussing at their 1-month-old child, who was crying.
The woman told Colvin that Dicken struck her in the mouth and then fled with their daughter.
Dicken was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence with minor injury.
Police records state that Dicken met with officers and the woman about an hour later to return the child.
On Wednesday, Dicken pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay a $200 fine and sentenced to two years' probation. He was also ordered to not have contact with the woman.
