Man accused of stealing backhoe

A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with receiving more than $300 in stolen property after he allegedly stole a backhoe and parked it at Taylor County High School.

According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Ronald E. Vanheck, 33, of 726 Buckner St. was arrested Monday at 6:41 p.m.

The report states that sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Taylor County High School where Vanheck had just parked a backhoe that had allegedly been stolen from Gowen's Auto Glass & Installation on Main Street. The backhoe had been stolen on Sunday or Monday, the report states.

Campbellsville Police Department assisted. Vanheck was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.

Sheriff's Deputy Rodney Cox investigated.
